Our Lawn Disease Control Services

Plants in North Texas are subject to many diseases, particularly those caused by fungi. Well-nourished, organically maintained plants with good root development, grown in healthy, biologically active soil, are better able to resist pathogens that might attack them. Many plant diseases result, at least in part, from the destructive side effects of chemical fertilizers. Take All Root Rot (TARR), which destroys many lawns, is an excellent example. TARR is caused by a fungus. Chemical fertilizers kill the beneficial microbes in your soil that keep that fungus in check, so a chemically fertilized lawn is easy prey for TARR. Overwatering can also promote disease. With an organic program, your plants require less water than chemical programs, which reduces the risk of infection.
Our maintenance associates are trained to recognize symptoms of these and other plant diseases so that we can treat them before they destroy your yard. Knowing whether a problem is caused by disease, insects, or a combination of the two is essential for solving the problem.
Our Expertise
Diseases such as TARR, brown patch, dollar spot, and black spot are soil-borne, and often the solution involves restoring the biology of the soil. When we see plant disease in a yard, we alert the homeowner to the problem and develop a program to return the plants to health.
