Come out to the Colleyville Public Library for our special presentation on straw bale gardening. Learn how to set up and prepare your bales and plant your vegetables to enjoy a fall harvest.
Straw bales are a quick, easy, and inexpensive alternative to building a raised bed. You save the cost of buying or building a frame and you won’t need to buy yards and yards of soil to fill it with. Your garden can be a single bale or many bales and can be easily arranged into any configuration, and they can be placed on any surface, including a patio or driveway. Raised beds are also much easier to work than in-ground gardens — especially for those who have trouble kneeling or bending over.
