Asparagus is one of the first plants to greet us in springtime, sending up their tender shoots as soon as the soil temperature reaches around 50°F. Although it takes two to three years to begin producing, once established, it will feed your family for decades! While you're waiting, enjoy its ferny foliage as an excellent ornamental.
