The best way to control web worms, tent caterpillars, and other catepillar infestations. These microscopic wasps are harmless to people, animals and plants. Although trichogramma wasps occur naturally throughout the United States, they usually do not occur in high enough numbers to be effective at supressing pest populations. Frequent releases made over several weeks result in better best control than a single large release.
Available in season only.
How to Apply
Trichogramma wasps are shipped as immature larvae inside moth eggs. They are glued to small cards that can be attached by hand to infested plants. The emerging wasps will have the best chance of finding and parasitizing eggs when the weather is moderate. Avoid releases under extremely hot, cold, rainy or windy conditions. Release 5,000 trichogramma wasps (1 square) per 5,000 square feet, weekly, or every other week, for 3 to 6 consecutive weeks.
